We thank Don Fortkamp and Jim Nixon for notifying us that David Buirley, a life time member of Grand Lake Beagle Club lost his battle with brain cancer on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 79. David and Don Fortkamp were partners and traveled many miles together with their dogs. Our thoughts and prayers are with David's family and friends in getting through this very difficult time. May you rest in peace and you will remain in our hearts through the many cherished memories. Thank you for your courage, strength, guidance, love and teachings through the years.
Dave E Buirley, age 79, of Celina, Ohio passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon (Schulte) Buirley. He is also survived by his three daughters, Lisa Rohrbach of Celina, Shelley (Greg) Dicke of New Bremen, Carrie (Joe) Gehle of Celina. He leaves behind five grandchildren; Dr. Meagan (Dr. Brian) Dinh of Beaver Creek, Joel (Hannah). Hemmelgarn of New Bremen, Austin Hemmelgarn of New Bremen, Brooke (Shane) Carr of Mullen, Nebraska, Macy (Dylan) Gibbons of Celina, three great grandsons; William David Dinh, Bentley Thomas Gibbons and Waylon David Gibbons. David is survived by two sisters Barbara (Mervin) Butts of West Milton, Judy (Rick) Paradine of Angola, IN a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob (Kathy) Schulte of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence "Buck" and Edith (Borts) Buirley, his in-laws Bob (Colleen) Schulte, and a granddaughter Brittany.
Dave was a 1960 graduate of Coldwater High School in Coldwater, Michigan. Upon Graduation he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he attended Dayton Barber College. He barbered in Dayton for approximately fifteen years. He retired from Crown Equipment Corporation after thirty years of service. He joined the Army Reserves in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1970. Dave loved sports, his kids and animals. He was an amazing Father and a wonderful Papa.
Honorary pallbearers are Harold Pleiman. Don Fortkamp, Nephew Jeff Butts, Todd Brown, Kyle Schulte and Derek Schulte.
There will be no viewing.
Services will be held at the convenience of the Buirley Family.
Meeting David at Heaven's Gate will be two of his long-time friends Dick Shook and Dick Spriggs.
Funeral Arrangements are in the care of the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
