Paul Davis Has Lost his Battle(Includes Obituary)
June 23, 2021

Article by Lynette Coil

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news that Paul Davis lost his battle and moved onto peace and pain free.  Paul ran his beagles under the kennel name Tag-A-Long and was a force to reckon with.  He loved his beagles, running the federations, license trials whether they were derbies, futurities or all age.  He belonged to Delsea, Maryland and Patapsco Ridge.  He dedicated a lot of years to the sport and covered many miles through the years  with long time friend, Lowell Gray and then Paul's son was his traveling companion and has continued to keep the Tag-A-Long Kennel in competition. Paul's family has been very loving and supportive through the years. Originally diagnosed with kidney cancer and then in 2014 ended up having a stroke that left him paralyzed. He called his friend, Chris Lehneis who called 911, as they were meeting at Maryland to run dogs that day. Paul has fought a long and courageous battle through the years and continued to be strong and stay positive. We are truly thankful for all he has not only given, but his dedication, devotion, strength, courage and lessons through the years.  He is truly a man to be admired.   He was a great husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

Some of Paul's Beagling Highlights are

Paul went into the Brace Hall of Fame in 2011

2015 Paul went into the Breeders Hall of Fame for breeding over 15 Field Champions

2020 Received the National Brace Beagling Award

1996 Tag A Long Bo James went into the Producing Sire Hall of Fame

Rest In Peace our Dear Friend!  You are Forever In Our Hearts and Will Live On Through The Many Cherished Memories!   I think Paul would tell all of us

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Davis Family and their friends

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly.

in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you,

the day GOD called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; t God but as GOD calls us one by one, THE CHAIN will link again.
