It is with a heavy heart that we received the news that Elmer Bado passed away last night, 9/12/19 from Bob Lamberts and Richard Baumann.
Elmer Bado, home of Beaver Creek beagles, President of Lorain County Beagle Club, "Mr Lorain County", and past President of the Heartland. Elmer was an instrumental member in implementing the Heartland when it originated at Honey Bee Beagle Club in Kentucky. As he continued to be a major driver, the Heartland then moved to its present home, Lorain County Beagle Club in Wellington, Ohio. Elmer definitely knew how to be a prime host, whether it be a trial, federation, turkey shoot, hosting a party, auctions, it didn't matter. He was a natural leader and helped grandchildren and others in 4H, worked at the fairs, and pushed himself to hold everything together. He supported and worked at the federations and license trials for years. His right arm, caregiver, love of his life, Sharon Staveski has remained at his side, manages the kitchen and many key positions to help Lorain and Elmer be so successful, along with good friend, Barb Stone. Every beagle club should be lucky enough to have a member and officer like Elmer Bado and those that have helped him through the years. We truly thank Elmer for his dedication. guidance and hard work through the years. His son, Dale Bado has been filling in as President, since Elmer's health started going down hill; those are some real big shoes to fill and hopefully, there are footprints to follow. Any job or position Elmer undertook, he gave it his all and he will be truly missed. He has been a true treasure that will be missed beyond measure. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends to get through this difficult time. Rest In Peace our dear friend and you will always remain in our hearts, through all the precious memories, stories and good times you shared with us all.
