Pennsylvania Winner’s Stake Location Change
April 16, 2019

Article by Sharon Diable

This newsletter is to inform all Pennsylvania Association Beagle Club members that the Winner’sStakehas been moved again. Due to the running ground going through a face lift and the lack of game, Salem Beagle Club had to cancel hosting the Winner’s Stake for this year. Coraopolis Beagle Club has stepped up and offered to hold the Winner’s Stake at their club. We all know how much work it is to host a trial like this. Thank You to all the members at Coraopolis. Their address is 733 Bocktown Cork Road Clinton, PA 15026.

To be eligible to run at the Pennsylvania Association Winners Stake you must have qualified your hound at a qualifying trial placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or NBQ. Qualified hounds will pay a $15.00 (fifteen dollar) entry fee. If you ran at a qualifying trial but did not place, you can pay a post-entry fee of $20.00 (twenty dollars). If you did not run your hound in any qualifying trials and wish to enter the Winner’s Stake, you may pay a super post-entry of $40.00 (forty dollars). All qualifying trials must be run at least one week prior to the Winner’s Stake and all dogs that placed and ran in the qualifying trial must be turned into the association secretary no later than the Friday before the Winner’s Stake. No dogs will be accepted as qualified or ran in a qualifying trial the day of the Winner’s Stake.

There will be a Chinese auction held on Sunday during lunch. It’s suggested that each member club donate to the door prizes. One hundred percent of this money goes to the payout for the next year’s Winners Stake.

The annual meeting will be held Saturday after the completion of the female class. This year we will be nominating for 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Come with your nominations. Also be prepared to submit a name for next year’s Winner’s Stake judges. This will also be the last year that Dave and Sharon work on the program book. So, come with new ideas for raising money.

The cutoff for this year’s program book will be May 11 which is less than a month away. If you would like your kennel to be advertised in the program book, please send your write-up, pictures, money, etc. to Sharon prior to May 11. Sharon can be notified at or by mail to PO Box 63, Darragh, Pa. 15625. Full page ad is $20, half page is $10 and a quarter page is $5. The Pennsylvania thanks you in advance for your support.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Let’s hope for nice weather.

Respectfully submitted

David Diable, Secretary-Treasurer
