It is with a heavy heart that we received the news from Tom Hawk and Ed White that James Thwing passed away at work last night.
James Thwing of Graceland Beagles belonged to Border, Red Cedar and Southern Michigan and a member of ABBA. Alot of us got to see Jim at Red Cedar's License Trial and he marshaled a class. He worked alot of hours, but every year tried to make Red Cedar's License Trial and if he didn't marshal, he would beat brush.
Ed White did share he beagled with his grandfather, and James when he was just a kid back at Great Lakes Beagle Club from 1967 till 1984. I will miss him. I worked with James's grandfather. When James was a kid, he also went to a few trials with Snake Wilson. James was a good friend and beagler. It was an absolute pleasure to know him and we thank him for his help, dedication and devotion here in Michigan. You are a true treasure and will be missed beyond measure. Continue to smile down on us, as you did when you were with us. Once again it is proven God only takes the best!
We will all definitely miss him and our thoughts and prayers are with James and his dear wife, Jill, his family and friends. Rest in Peace my friend!
