The Swatara Beagle Club held their annual licensed brace trial August 1-3, 2010. The heat wave we had been experiencing finally broke and the weather was great for the running of the hounds. We had a total of 87 hounds. Judging the 13" males were Dick Burchette and Paul Krepicz. Judging the other three classes were Art Bogar from NC and Wayne Harkleroad from TN. Great meals were served by Chef Hartman and his crew. At Swatara's August trial you can always count on good fresh corn on the cob and great watermelon and cantaloupe on the table. Nothing taste better then good cold melon when you come in out of the field at lunch time. Thanks to handlers Karen and Fred Eurick, Mike Mahlmeister, and Bill Wein for supporting our trial Also thanks to all the individuals who brought hounds to run. The grounds were in great shape, rabbits were plentiful, and a great gallery moved the trial right along. Thanks to Olde Columbia Feeds for feeding the hounds.
