Maryland Beagle Club hosted the Maryland State Championship under hot humid conditions. When the entries closed there were 23 bitches and 11 males. The males were done with 1st series by 11:00 and the bitches finished 1st series by noon. After a great lunch prepared by Sue Baumgardner, both classes went to the field for second series. In the male class Awesome Maxell over turned the high hound, Conewago Mtn. Cooper for the win. Congratulations to owner/handler Doug Lesight. Maxell earned is owner $53.00 out of a purse of $132.00 that was awarded to the male class. On the female side, the second brace was moved to the top with Tag-A-Long Good Faith picking up the win for owner/handler, Paul Davis. Faith earned his owner $121.00 out of a purse of $302.00 that was awarded to the place winners of the female class. Judging the females were Bryan Frye and Twiggy Welch with Raymond Brantner and Blaine Rexroth accessing the runs on the male class. This is a great trial that pays good win money.
