Arrangements Announced for Nancy Sue Idalski

DeWitt, MI

Nancy Sue Idalski, Age 74, passed away on August 3, 2010. She was born in St. Louis, MO on November 9, 1935 and grew up in Galesburg, IL before coming to Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in social work.

She was a longtime member of the Church of the Resurrection; was an avid MSU sports fan; and a volunteer at Sparrow Hospital in both the gift shop and surgical lounge. Nancy was the Office Manager for Lansing OB-GYN for 35 years, retiring in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Ruby Phillips. Her father was a longtime basketball coach and member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Robert L.; children, Susan (David) Lucian, Michael (Ellie) Idalski, Julie (TJ) Weaver; and 5 grandchildren, Erin and Brian Lucian, Beau Idalski, Oliver and Avery Weaver.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Church of the Resurrection, 1505 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with The Rev. Fr. William J. Koenigsknecht as Celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow at DeWitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or to the MSU Spartan Fund.
