Grass Lake Gale Wins 13” Bitch Class at Sturgeon Creek

Grass Lake Gale picked up the first win of her career on the opening day of the Sturgeon Creek Licensed Trial in the thirteen-inch bitch class. She was back high in second series and moved her rabbit flawlessly through cover to defeat Oak Openings Karen in the high brace. Gale in owned by Danny and L.A. Williams and Robbie Dillon. All are members of Southern Michigan Beagle Club.

Grass Lake Gale was sired by Field Champion Old Style Spice Hunter. Her dam is Field Champion Terra Haven Gale. Karen’s breeder is Max and Richard Steffin. She was presented as a gift to Danny Willimas when she was a six week old puppy.

Oak Openings Karen finished second. This makes the fourth, second place this young bitch has claimed this spring and summer. Karen was sired by Field Champion Tilley’s Ace. She is owned by Wayne Fisher, who is a member of Ottawa River Beagle Club in Ohio. Wayne also copped third place with Oak Openings Dolly.

There were eighteen bitches entered in the competition. Eight females were called back for second series. Dick Doan and Kim Schrotenboer judged the trial. There were lots of rabbits and the grounds were in fine shape. The weather was hot and humid.

2. Oak Openings Dolly (3rd) vs. Gillum's Courtyard jasmine (4th).
3. Stone's Debbie vs. Molly's Sadie.
4. Big Bark Beonia vs. Big Bark Bella B (NBQ).

1. Oak Openings Karen vs. Oak Openings Dolly.
