On the pages of Scripture we hear our Lord Jesus invite us unto Himself. He says..
"Come unto Me..." "Follow Me..." "Abide in Me..."
Together these are a compelling reminder that the Christian religion is not merely a set of beliefs or regimen of discipline. It is a personal relationship with the very Son of God! As the Lenten season continues I urge you (as I urge myself) to exmine your relationship with god.
Is it a part-time: one you practice when it seems right or necessary to you but ignore at other times?
Is it compartmentalized: is Jesus welcome in some parts of yor life, but excluded from others?
Is it dated: are your thoughts of Him largely from the past rather than the prresent?
Is it aloof: is your tendency to keep Jesus at the safety of an arm's length?
Jesus calls us into an intimate, permanent, continuous, living rtelationship with Himself. This relationship is the only part of our present lives that will last forever. May this be the associaton with Christ each of us seeks, practices and celebrates!
